Airbus wins firm order for six A330-200
Airbus has won a firm order for six freighter variants of its A330-200 aircraft from an Indian cargo company, officials said Wednesday.
Airbus won the order from Flyington Freighters, a cargo airliner based in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, the European jet maker's Chief Operating Officer John J. Leahy told a news conference in Mumbai.
``The first A330-200F will be delivered in 2009,'' said Leahy, who is in India to showcase the super jumbo A380 and explore prospects of new order from local airlines.
Two planes will be delivered in 2009 and remaining four in 2010, said Kiran Rao, who heads Airbus in India. Each plane is worth $175 million (euro 130 million) at list prices.
