Airbus to deliver over 1,200 aircraft to India in next decade: MD Jürgen Westermeier

Jürgen Westermeier, President and MD of Airbus in India and South Asia region, said, "We have a big backlog, the biggest backlog with any country in India. It is 1,250 aircraft. This means in the next 10 years we will deliver on average 120 aircraft, so more than two aircraft per week, which shows you the capabilities of the Indian market. The good thing is that it is fully aligned with the demand of our airline customers, with the growth of the middle class in India, to utilise these aircrafts. And you asked for A220. This is our most modern clean-sheet aircraft. Really modern, really excellent, perceived by all the customers, especially by the flying customers. So I am looking forward to also introducing the A220 in the region, so it's really great."
