AirAsia India CEO Mittu Chandilya wants to recruit more station managers than general managers as it makes more sense for his business.

CHENNAI: AirAsia India CEO Mittu Chandilya wants to recruit more station managers than general managers as it makes more sense for his business. “We don’t believe in layered management. I would rather have a station manager at each airport than a GM,” he told ET.

He also said that he wants to utilise aircraft for 14-16 hours per day which has never been done in India. “The closest in India is 11 hours,” he said. The airline on Thursday announced a tie-up with Global Air Cargo India to manage cargo sales.
