Air India to resume flights at Dharamsala, Kullu from tomorrow

After discontinuation of services to Himachal Pradesh for more than eight months, Air India would resume its flights to Dharamsala and Kullu from tomorrow.

SHIMLA: After discontinuation of services to Himachal Pradesh for more than eight months, Air India would resume its flights to Dharamsala and Kullu from tomorrow.

To and fro flights between Delhi and Kangra (Dharamsala) and Delhi and Bhuntar (Kullu) will resume from May 15, Kangra airport in-charge Kuldeep Sharma said today.

The airline had halted services to the region due to operational reasons.

State Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said Spice Jet is also keen to start its regular flight from Delhi to Dharamsala, the abode of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

"Spice Jet is awaiting approval from the DGCA ( Directorate General of Civil Aviation)," Sharma, who is also the MLA from Dharamsala, said.

Kingfisher was the only airline that operated regular flights between Delhi and three airports in Himachal -- Jubbarhatti near Shimla, Gaggal near Dharamsala and Bhuntar near Kullu.
