Air India to raise fuel surcharge by Rs 300 from Monday

State-owned Air India would hike the fuel surcharge by Rs 300 per ticket from Monday.

NEW DELHI: State-owned Air India on Saturday said it would hike the fuel surcharge by Rs 300 per ticket from Monday, a day after Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines increased the surcharge by an identical amount.

"Air India today decided to hike the fuel surcharge by Rs 300 from Monday," its spokesman Jitender Bhargava told reporters.

The announcement comes on the heels of major private airlines deciding yesterday to raise the levy to offset losses on account of a nearly 12 per cent increase in jet fuel (ATF) prices.
