Air India to operate daily flight between Delhi and Prayagraj during Maha Kumbh

Air India on Tuesday announced that it would operate daily flights between Delhi and Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the world’s largest spiritual gathering.

As the the demand increases on the route, the airline will operate flights from 25 January to 28 February 2025. With these flights, Air India brings the only full-service flying option between the two cities for customers. The aircrafts will have a choice of premium cabins in addition to Economy Class.



Air India will operate one flight per day from Delhi to Prayagraj and back. The departures in both directions are during the convenience of daytime. This will also provide easy connectivity to devotees from various parts of India as well as as North America, Europe, Australia, and several countries in Southeast Asia.

The flight from Delhi to Prayagraj from January 25 to January 31 will depart 2:10 pm and reach the destination at 3:20 pm, while the return flight from Prayagraj will depart at 4:00 pm and reach the national capital at 5:10 pm.

From February 1 onwards, the flight from Delhi will depart at 1:00 pm and reach Prayagraj at 2:10 pm. The return flight will depart at 2:50 pm and arrive to the destination at 4:00 pm.

Maha Kumbh Mela

World's biggest gathering of humanity, Maha Kumbh, started on Monday, paving the way for a 45-day event with the first major bathing ritual or 'Shahi Snan' on the auspicious occasion of 'Paush Purnima' at the Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mystical Saraswati rivers in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.


The present edition of the Kumbh is being held after 12 years, though seers claim the celestial permutations and combinations for the event are taking place after 144 years, making the occasion even more auspicious. Perhaps that's why the Uttar Pradesh government is confident of 35 crore devotees visiting Prayagraj this time.
