Air India staff fight delays flight

Sources said the fight took an ugly turn when the pilot allegedly assaulted the engineer who ended up with a bloody nose and was taken to a hospital.

NEW DELHI: A fight between a pilot and an engineer delayed an Air India flight between Chennai and Delhi for an onward journey to Paris and troubled 142 people on board. While Air India has ordered an inquiry into the issue, aviation regulator DGCA has also sought a report.

Sources said the fight took an ugly turn when the pilot allegedly assaulted the engineer who ended up with a bloody nose and was taken to a hospital.

The Chennai-Paris flight via Delhi (AI 143) on Saturday morning had a scheduled changeover to Boeing 787 in Delhi for onward journey to Paris. The flight finally took off after a two-hour delay at 11.45 am.
