Air India slashes fares on all routes

The Air India on Monday cut fares by reducing fuel surcharge by Rs 400 per ticket.

MUMBAI: The Air India on Monday cut fares by reducing fuel surcharge by Rs 400 per ticket.

The fare reduction comes at the beginning of the two-month peak season for the domestic air travel market. ET had first reported on November 24 that Air India has decided to cut the fuel surcharge on the domestic routes.

Air India chairman and managing director Raghu Menon said: "We have decided to bring down the fuel surcharge now because crude prices have fallen globally, thereby bringing down ATF prices. Although, crude prices are still volatile, we hope they will stabilise at the current levels, so that there is a short to medium term relief in ATF costs."
