Air India lists six A319 aircraft for sale through Skytech-AIC
Air India is offloading six Airbus A319 aircraft, built between 2003 and 2006, as part of its fleet rationalisation. Skytech-AIC, a UK-based firm, has been appointed to manage the sale of these narrowbody jets, which will be offered without their ...
The aircraft, built between 2003 and 2006, are available for immediate sale and will be offered without their CFM56-5 engines, according to an announcement by Skytech-AIC.
The six narrowbody aircraft are being marketed for sale with immediate availability. Skytech-AIC did not disclose the expected timeline for the sale, the value of the transaction or potential buyers.
Skytech-AIC had previously managed the sale of the airline's Boeing 747-400 fleet, a process that concluded in 2025.
"We are delighted to have again been selected by India's flag-carrier, Air India, for this important assignment which follows the successful conclusion of the sale of the airline's 747-400 fleet which completed in 2025," Skytech-AIC Managing Director Julian Balaam said in the statement.
The latest divestment comes as Air India continues its fleet transformation programme under the Tata Group. The airline has been retiring older aircraft while inducting new-generation jets as part of its long-term fleet modernisation strategy.
Airbus A319 aircraft have traditionally been deployed by Air India on domestic and short-haul international routes. The said fleet is expected to be gradually phased out as the airline inducts new Airbus A320neo-family aircraft over the coming years.
