Over 100 flights delyed
Heavy rain swept across parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region on Saturday morning, disrupting flights and morning commute. More than 100 flights were delayed due to the rainfall. However, no flights were cancelled, reported ET Now. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for the day warned of “thunderstorm with rain”, with temperatures expected to peak at 33°C and drop to 25°C at night. Officials have cautioned that the capital could see another round of showers later in the day.
Shastri Bhawan, R.K. Puram, Moti Bagh, and Kidwai Nagar saw some of the heaviest showers. On Mathura Road and outside Bharat Mandapam’s Gate No. 7, water pooled quickly, slowing vehicles and forcing pedestrians to wade through knee-deep patches.
