The first one is expected to land by the end of December, the airline informed.
Apart from this approval, DGCA has also certified the Tata owned airline's engineers for attending to any work related to the maintenance of A350 aircraft.
“This approval will further inspire us to ensure smooth operation of our fleet, including, of course, the A350, with the highest technical despatch reliability,” said S.K. Dash, Chief Technical Officer, Air India.
It is to be noted that the Civil Aviation Regulation (CAR) 145 offers certification that the MRO's systems, procedures, and controls have been carefully examined, assessed, and tested by the DGCA, the regulatory body, and are certified to be able to carry out maintenance tasks in a way that complies with all airworthiness requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
At the Airbus centre in Toulouse, the engineering teams made up of members from Air India, Vistara, and AIX Connect successfully finished their training, it said adding that specialised courses on Structure Assessment and Engine Run Up were also conducted.
"Senior executives from the Engineering department have undergone A350 General Familiarization Course to ensure comprehensive domain knowledge and understanding of the aircraft," said Air India in a media release.
Technicians, too, were a part of extensive training in General Familiarization to ensure smooth servicing and operation of the A350 aircraft.
