Air India dishes it nice with sugar and spice: Flies all-women crew to San Fransciso

The entire flight was operated by the women staff of eight departments that include cockpit crew, cabin crew, check-In staff, doctor, customer care staff.

NEW DELHI: Air India today said that it has scripted history by flying an 'all-women crew flight around the world' between Delhi and San Francisco.

"AI 174 from San Francisco touched down Delhi this evening adding yet another feather to Air India's cap in its constant endeavour to encourage women. The flight AI 173 had earlier taken off from IGI Airport in Delhi on 27th February to San Francisco covering a distance of around 15300 km in 15 and a half hours over the Pacific route and on the return journey from San Francisco over the Atlantic," said a statement from the airline.

The flight was piloted by Capt. Sunita Narula, Capt. Kshamta Bajpayee, Capt. Indira Singh and Capt. Gunjan Aggarwal. The all-women cabin crew was led by Ms. Seema Baberwal and Ms. Nishrin Bandulwala, added the statement.

The entire flight was operated by the women staff of eight departments that include cockpit crew, cabin crew, check-In staff, doctor, customer care staff, ATC and the entire ground handling from operator to technician, engineer and flight dispatcher and trimmer.
