Air India cancels flights to these nine airports until morning of May 10

Air India has announced the cancellation of flights to and from nine airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, until 5:29 AM IST on May 10, following a government notification related to the closure of select airspaces. The move comes in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, under which Indian armed forces launched missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan in response to last month’s Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

In an official statement, Air India said, “Flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are cancelled until 0529 hrs IST on 10 May due to airport closures as per aviation authorities’ directives.”


The airline also informed passengers via X (formerly Twitter) that those with valid tickets for travel during the affected period will be eligible for a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations.


Following airspace restrictions, multiple airlines have suspended services to northern and western regions.

SpiceJet in an advisory stated that flights to and from Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar are suspended until further notice. The airline warned that both arrivals and departures — along with connecting flights — would be affected, urging passengers to check flight status and plan accordingly.


IndiGo also posted an update on X, informing that its operations to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala would be impacted, and advised passengers to verify flight schedules before heading to the airport.
