Air France keen to operate flights out of city: CM
Speaking at the AGM of Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry here, Bhattacharjee said that besides Air France, Lufthansa had also expressed desire to increase frequency of flights connecting Kolkata and Frankfurt from thrice a week to daily.
The chief minister also spoke on greenfield airports that the Indian Air Force has agreed to grant lease of its airstrips at Barrackpore and Kanchrapara for constructing small airports.
He said that the Cooch Behar airport was ready to start operations any day, adding that the Centre has also agreed for constructing a new greenfield airport at Ondal.
On setting up industry, he said that the state government was in the process of preparing a just policy on acquisition and rehabilitation to spearhead the process of industrialisation.
Speaking about the proposed chemical hub at Nayachar, he said the proposal would be sent shortly to the Centre.
