Air Deccan makes longest ever Indian commercial
It beats the Raymond ad by 30 seconds to gain the top-spot.

MUMBAI: Air Deccan’s commercial running on air currently, titled ‘The Old man and the Sky’ is the longest Indian commercial, with a running length of 150 seconds. It beats the Raymond ad by 30 seconds to gain the top-spot. The length of the commercial has also helped it gain entry into the Limca Book of Records as the longest TV commercial to be telecast in the history of Indian advertising.
The commercial was shot in Pollachi, Kerala over three days with a budget of approximately Rs 15 lakhs. The old man in the commercial is played national film award winner, Murali from the South Indian film industry. Produced by Thinkpot Productions, Bangalore, it is directed by Manoj Pillai and has won awards like Gold at Goafest last year in the services category. The brain behind the commercial is Thomas Xavier, creative director, Orchard, Bangalore, who is credited to have come up with the idea to capture all the emotions a person goes through before his first flight.
