Air Costa pays delayed June salaries to some employees

MUMBAI: Air Costa Wednesday paid pending June salaries to its pilots and other employees, barely a day after ET reported the airline had delayed payments.

"I am officially stating there are zero dues at present on June month salary," vice president marketing Kavi Chaurasia said, admitting there had been delays. ET reviewed mails that came to employees today informing them their June salaries have been credited.

A person in the know said the highest salaried employees in the airline--pilots and some of the top management, who earn between Rs 5 lakh-Rs 8 lakh--had faced a delay in their June salaries. Other had been paid.

These employees haven't got their July salaries yet.

ET earlier today cited an apology email sent by its AVP HR Kavitha Yarlagadda for delayed salaries. Air Costa last week grounded operations for a day on payment issues with the lessor GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS).
