After Jet Airways, IndiGo receives calls warning of explosives on 11 of its flights
After five flights of Jet Airways were grounded due to bomb threat calls yesterday, calls were made to IndiGo’s call centre in Chennai.
The IndiGo call centre in Chennai received a bomb threat call at 11:13 am and within minutes, all security agencies were informed, the airline said in a statement.
“There are certain laid down procedures to be followed by the airlines, airports and other government authorities and all such procedures were followed and are being followed. We have commenced additional security measures as per our laid down procedures,” IndiGo said.
The airline added that all passengers were safe and the threat was a hoax. IndiGo said it could not divulge further details. Airlines and airports are on heightened alert following explosions in Brussels on Tuesday.
