NEW DELHI: The Airport Authority of India will award 60 scholarships to young sportspersons in the country pursuing various games.
Under various sports promotion schemes, the AAI will spend Rs 71.6 lakh of which Rs 21.6 lakh will be spent for scholarships to the youngsters -- of the age-group of 14-22 years -- playing football, cricket, volleyball, badminton and table tennis, AAI Chairman K Ramalingam said.
Besides, under Sports Talent Search and Training Scheme, assistance upto Rs 5 lakh would be provided per individual for training and participation in various tournaments.
