AAI sings MoU with Aviation Ministry

NEW DELHI: Airports Authority of India (AAI) ON Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Civil Aviation that lists targets to be achieved by it on key performance areas like cargo clearance next fiscal.
The other targets that find mention in the MoU are Customer Satisfaction (77 per cent) and ISO Certification of 11 Airports, an official press release said here on Friday.
To improve the efficiency of Cargo Processing, AAI targets to process 96 per cent of International Cargo (Export) in two days and 98 per cent of International Cargo (Import) in 24 hours.
The safety related targets include, bird strike rate to be limited below 0.50 per 10,000 aircraft movements and airprox (aircraft proximity) incidents below 1.80 per one lakh aircraft movements.
There are 12 high priority projects identified to be completed during the year 2007-08, the MoU said.
As regards revenues for next fiscal, AAI targets its gross margin to be Rs 1,850 crore against Rs 1,400 crore in 2006-07.
