AAI officers plan black-badge protest on Jan 29

A section of Airports Authority of India officers plan to wear black-badges on January 29 to protest management's "failure" to meet its long-pending demands.

MUMBAI: A section of Airports Authority of India officers plan to wear black-badges on January 29 to protest management's "failure" to meet its long-pending demands.

"We will wear black-badges on January 29 to register our protest against the intransigent attitude of the AAI management towards our demands," an Airport Authority of India Officers Association (AAIOA) source said in Mumbai on Friday.

Over 2,000 officers mainly belonging to the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) wing of the AAI would participate in the nation-wide protest, the source said, adding, "it will be a peaceful agitation which will not disrupt air-services or compromise passengers' safety."

The demands include providing adequate manpower, proper and regular training to the technical workforce especially in the CNS and restoration of some entitlements which have been curtailed as part of the austerity measures by the Authority.
