632 acres to be taken on lease for Kannur airport

A total of 632 acres of land would be given on lease to the company formed for constructing the proposed airport at Kannur.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A total of 632 acres of land would be given on lease to the company formed for constructing the proposed airport at Kannur, Minister in charge of airports K Babu said today.

Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Limited (KINFRA), which had acquired the land, would hand it over to the airport company at a rate of Rs 100 per acre, he said in a press release here.

He also said the renewed request proposal and concession agreement for the development of Azhikal seaport in Kannur had been approved by the cabinet. The port would be developed under Private Public Participation (PPP) basis, he said.
