22 flights diverted amid heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR

22 flights to Delhi airport redirected due to bad weather. ANI reported diversions between 3-4:30 pm. Various areas in Delhi witnessed light rainfall. IMD forecasted thunderstorms with rain over isolated places.

Due to adverse weather conditions, as many as 22 flights scheduled to land at the Delhi airport on Saturday afternoon were redirected, reported ANI.

Of these 22 flights, 8 were diverted to Lucknow, 9 to Jaipur, 2 to Chandigarh, and 1 each to Varanasi, Amritsar, and Ahmedabad.

These flights were diverted between 3 pm - 4:30 pm due to bad weather.


As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a sudden spell of rain lashed parts of the national capital on Saturday afternoon.

Several areas of Delhi, including, RK Puram, India Gate, Pandit Pant Marg, and Munirka witnessed light rainfall with gusty winds.

The weather department earlier in the day forecasted thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain with heavy intensity rain over isolated places in Delhi, NCR region, including Bahadurgarh, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Manesar.
