Mr Karkaria is well versed with the features of his phone. He tells that the phone operates on Windows Mobile 6 Professional system and has 256 MB memory. "It downloads e-mails faster. Also it doesn't hang like other phones do. It has a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus," he adds few other points when we ask about the features that he likes about his phone.
So, is there something that he does not like about the phone? "It's available in only one colour. Also the battery runs out fast," he complains. Well, he for sure knows his phone pretty well despite the fact that he has changed three handsets in the last six months. His notebook is an IBM. Though he doesn't use it much as most of his work is done over phone. "I use my laptop only when I have to print something or use applications like an excel sheet," he says.
He has a PlayStation but does not get much time for gaming. Another gadget that he uses is the Bose Wave System. "You just need to drop your iPod on top of it to have loud music with good sound clarity. I take it to most of the parties and functions," he says Mr Karkaria is net savvy too. He is online almost throughout the day, spending time surfing Google Earth, travel websites and also news sites. "As compared to television, internet is faster if one wants to get the latest news," he opines. He receives around 300-400 emails a day and replies to every mail that needs a response.
Pointing at a negative fallout of technology he says, "People expect prompt answers and replies. There's no escaping." His home is wi-fi enabled. He also has a GPS antennae fixed at his home. He is looking forward to buying a small printer which can be attached to his phone. "I saw such a printer in Taiwan. I will soon buy it so that I can carry it wherever I go," he says. To conclude the tech talk, he gives himself seven on a scale of 10 for being tech savvy.
