Zen Mobile eyes 3-fold jump in marketshare
Riding on the back of a slew of new handset launches combined with an expanding customer-base, Zen Mobile, is targeting a three-fold jump in its marketshare by end-this fiscal, a top company official said.
"We are young in the mobile industry but growing very fast. We aim to triple our marketshare to 7-10 per cent from the present two per cent by FY 11," Zen Mobile Managing Director, Deepesh Gupta, told PTI here.
The Delhi-based handset-maker, a part of the 15-year-old Teleecare Group, plans to ramp-up its distributors' network to 1,000 from the present 650 by December, he said.
"We plan to expand our distributors network to 1,000 from present 650 by this year-end," Gupta said, adding the company has already covered 70 per cent of the country and plans to cover all districts pan-India in the next three to four months.
Zen Mobile is also eyeing a Rs 800 crore revenue from both domestic and overseas markets by end-this fiscal.
"We are now getting between Rs 40-45 crore every month from the market and targeting at least Rs 800 crore revenue by FY 11," he said, adding the company is aiming for at least a 10 per cent of the total revenue from overseas markets.
"Currently, 70-80 per cent of our revenue comes from the rural market and the remaining from Tier I cities. Our main target is rural India," Gupta said.
