VIJAYAWADA: Local division of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) on Saturday observed the World Telecom Day.
A programme was organised here to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, BSNL Krishna District General Manager A Hanumantha Rao a new facility to upgrade services would be set up here at the cost of Rs 23 crore.
Reviewing BSNL's activities in 2007-2008, he said broadband multiplay equipment were installed at 49 places in the District. This was done as part of expansion of broadband service in 2007 which declared as `Year of Broadband'.
