British telecom major Vodafone has finally taken control of the Hutchison Essar joint venture in India by forking out US $11.1 billion for 67 per cent controlling stake. The telecom market is bound to undergo a sea change with entry of Vodafone. Both mobile and fixed-services are expected to expand while 4G technologies are bound to make way into the Indian markets.
Arun Sarin, CEO of Vodafone, has already hinted that while enhancing the quality of services, the prices will be driven southwards. Do you think more such deals need to clinched to make mobile and fixed calls a customers delight?
