VSNL shareholders to meet on Aug 2

VSNL shareholders to consider scheme of arrangement with Direct Internet and VSNL Internet Services.

MUMBAI: Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd on Wednesday said the shareholders and unsecured creditors will consider the composite scheme of arrangement between the company and Direct Internet Ltd and VSNL Internet Services Ltd on August 2.

The shareholders would approve the scheme if thought fit with or without modification at the meeting to be convened as ordered by the Bombay High Court, the company informed the BSE in a statement.

Last year, VSNL had agreed to buy Internet services provider, Direct Internet Services, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Primus Telecommunications India Ltd for Rs 75 crore.
