Vodafone ties up with Teri to offset carbon footprint
Vodafone India, the country's second largest mobile phone company in India, tied up with Teri for undertaking steps to offset carbon footprint.
The company that has invested over Rs 56,000 crore in India said environment care will be one of its key initiatives among others including social empowerment and education in rural areas, regions where most of the company's 150 million customers live.
The company's chief operating officer Sunil Sood said the tie up will further embed and promote sustainability in Vodafone India’s operations and initiatives.
The areas of engagement between the two partners include strategic advisory and knowledge sharing, energy conservation and carbon footprint reduction for greener telecom. The two organisations will also explore opportunities to jointly build advocacy and promote the cause and purpose of sustainability in the public domain, Vodafone India said in a statement.
