Vodafone India’s Ashok Ramchandran to join Aditya Birla Group

NEW DELHI: Ashok Ramchandran is set to join the Aditya Birla Group as group executive president for human resources, said a person with knowledge of the matter. He’s moving from Vodafone India where he was director of human resources.

He will be replaced at Vodafone by Suvamoy Roy Choudhury, director, HR, South Asia, at Reckitt Benckiser, where he’s worked for more than eight years. Choudhury is an alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Before Reckitt Benckiser, he worked with Baxter, Motorola and ICI in various roles.

“Ramchandran joined Vodafone India in January 2009 and has over these years of business growth and significant change, built a strong foundation of our HR practices and business partnering in India,” Vodafone said in a statement. The transition will take place in September 2015. Ramchandran joined Vodafone India in 2009.
