Vodafone India triples fixed lines for enterprises
Vodafone India has tripled the number of fixed lines it had last year ended March 2013.
"It comes from a small base, but fixed line is where we see the future will be. Any bandwidth we provide today, that need doubles every year", said Naveen Chopra, director of Vodafone Business Services.
The company's small and medium enterprise (SME) segment business for hosted connectivity and facilities is growing much faster than the overall 20% for the enterprise business - the annual rate of growth which is expected to continue.
"This (SME) segment tends to be under served. And now in the 150-odd cities where we can offer services, we find that there are a lot of these ancillary companies to the large ones that need similar infrastructure," Chopra said. Since last year, the contribution from enterprise business has grown to nearly 11% of its revenue. Vodafone India records close to 10,000 crore revenue each quarter.
