Videocon Telecom cuts national roaming tariff

NEW DELHI: After national carriers, such as Vodafone India, Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular, Videocon Telecom that has less than a crore subscribers on Friday reduced national roaming tariff, in line with telecom regulator Trai guidelines.

The drop in tariff is to the extent of 75% on local and national SMS; 40% on all incoming calls; and 23% and 20% on STD and local calls made while roaming, the telecom firm said in a statement.

This revised tariff, it said, will be effective May 1, 2015 as per the TRAI’s guidelines. The telco continues to offer Free Incoming calls while roaming on Videocon Telecom network for all its subscribers.
