UTStarcom bags BSNL deal to supply optical transport solution

NEW DELHI: Networking solutions and services provider UTStarcom Inc has bagged a contract from BSNL to supply optical transport solution in India.
However, the size of the deal was not disclosed, the company's release stated.
The contract is the first commercial deplolyment of UTStarcom's next generation solution by BSNL in India.
BSNL plans to rollout more than six million DSL (digital subscriber lines) over the next several years while increasing their wireless subscriber base by approximately 25 million people, UTStarcom, Managing Director of South Asia Operations Vijay Yadav said in a statement here.
