UshaComm wins Nepal Telecom contract

UshaComm India, a group company of Usha Martin on Tuesday said it has won a two million dollar contract for Nepal Telecom (Nepal Doorsanchar Company Ltd).

KOLKATA: UshaComm India, a group company of Usha Martin on Tuesday said it has won a two million dollar contract for Nepal Telecom (Nepal Doorsanchar Company Ltd).

"We will provide end-to-end convergent solution for prepaid and postpaid internet subscribers of Nepal Telecom," UshaComm executive director Saugata Banerjee said here today.

It is a multi-year contract and the company will provide software licences and undertake all associated services including data migration, implementation and integration of third party systems.

"UshaComm product suite is completely convergent across multiple technologies in wireless and wireline like GSM, CDMA, GPRS, 3G, PSTN, ADSL, Cable and internet," the company said.

Banerjee said UshaComm was focusing at total solution, aiming at higher revenue generation for telecom companies.

Banerjee said the company would strengthen its position in in products like business intelligence through organic or inorganic route. "We are open to all options but nothing has been finalised."

UshaComm is a 10-million-dollar turnover company with 90 per cent revenue from exports.
