Uninor enables free Wi-Fi access in 500 stores

Uninor has enabled Wi-Fi service in 400 of its stores and opened 100 new retail outlets, while celebrating the Customer First Day.

New Delhi: Uninor, a subsidiary of Norway’s Telenor Group with presence in six telecom circles in India, has enabled Wi-Fi service in 400 of its stores and opened 100 new retail outlets, while celebrating the Customer First Day (CFD) across all circles on Thursday.

The company allows walk-in customers to experience free mobile Internet, access and download new applications and upgrade mobile software while they enter store premise.

Special offers and attractive price plans will be available for customers visiting Uninor stores on the day, the company in a statement said.

With more than 4.2-crore subscribers, Uninor maintains a network of 1500 stores and 365,000 points of sale, and operates a dial in *121# service that allows subscribers to access account information and get tailored tariff plans.

“Through the entire life cycle of our customers, we focus on providing affordable tariffs plans, build strong distribution network to provide convenience recharges, offer customized tariff plans and assistance on special services,” Uninor Chief Marketing Officer Rajeev Sethi said.
