NEW DELHI: Telecom regulator Trai will bring out a consultation paper on mobile value-added services (VAS) in April, chairman JS Sarma said, while adding that its recommendations on this issue would be out by June-end .

At the beginning of the year, Trai had asked for views of mobile operators on growth opportunities in VAS segment apart from a policy framework that would push the government’s plan of inclusive growth. Recommendations on equipment manufacturing policy will be released by the end of this week and those on green telecom will be out next week, Sarma said. In January , the regulator floated a consultation paper on the telecom infrastructure policy focusing on promoting energy-efficient technologies for the industry.
