Text, voice messaging app LINE launches offer on talk time

NEW DELHI: Text and voice messaging app LINE on Friday launched a talk time promotion offer that will run for the entire month of June. To participate, LINE users need to send at least one message or sticker to a LINE friend every day to receive free talk time points, which eventually need to reach Rs111 in 25 days.

The offer is available for all prepaid and post-paid users on smart phones operating on iOS and Android OS platforms irrespective of telecom service provider, the company said in a statement.

"Our mobile messaging business is growing in India and we would continue to offer our users innovative options to experience the LINE app and extend usage beyond simple chat," said Daman Soni, a representative of LINE India.

Currently, LINE has 440 million users worldwide with more than 18 million in India, and competes with instant messaging providers such as WeChat, WhatsApp and Weibo.
