The cash strapped telco will pay the final amount to be paid in 6 equal annual installments post moratorium period starting from 31 March 2026, Vi said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
“The Company has received a further communication dated 15 June 2022 (“DoT Letter”), wherein the DoT has offered a moratorium of four years (on an NPV protected basis) for all AGR related dues upto Financial Year 2018-19 which were not included in the Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 1st September, 2020,” the telco said in the filing.
The option to defer payment has to be exercised within 15 days of receiving the letter.
In October last year, the DoT had offered the option to defer AGR related dues as determined by the supreme court in the AGR case, by a period of 4 years. This was applicable to AGR dues upto the period FY 2016-17 which were included in the supreme court order.
