Vodafone Idea network restored after brief outage in Delhi NCR, Mumbai & Pune

Vodafone Idea (Vi) users across several major cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Pune, experienced a network outage during the early hours of Friday, April 18. The telecom provider attributed the disruption to a technical issue, which it says has since been resolved.

“Our network services were briefly impacted in NCR during the early hours of Friday due to a technical issue. The issue has been resolved and all services are now back to normal,” a Vodafone Idea spokesperson said.

The outage was first reported shortly after 12.30 am, with reports peaking at 1.01 am, according to Downdetector, a platform that tracks real-time service disruptions. The site recorded over 1,940 user reports at the height of the issue, with a majority citing no signal or a complete network blackout.


Downdetector data showed that the most affected cities included New Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, and Pune. Breakdown of user complaints indicated:

• 9% faced issues with mobile internet
  
  

Users also took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to vent their frustrations. One post read: “Are people still using Vi (Vodafone Idea)? It seems like the network is completely down.”

Apologizing for the inconvenience, the Vi spokesperson added: “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank our users for their patience and understanding.”
