Vodafone Idea CTO Vishant Vora quits after decade-long stint
Vora played a key role in the telco's integration with Idea Cellular. During this period in India, the top executive said that Vishant has been a prominent member of the evolution of the telecom industry.
“I would like to inform that after being in India for about 10 years, Vishant Vora, CTO has decided to return to the US,” Ravinder Takkar in internal staff communication, Wednesday said.
Vora played a key role in the telco's integration with Idea Cellular.
During this period in India, the top executive said that Vishant has been a prominent member of the evolution of the telecom industry.
“He has been a part of many technology transformations, first in Vodafone India, and then in Vodafone Idea in the last two years, and he has led from the front, the integration of our technology estates – one of the biggest and most complex integrations attempted anywhere in the world,” Takkar said.
The development has come at a time when the integration between Aditya Birla group’s Idea Cellular and Vodafone UK’s India arm, is in full throttle.

The company further said that it has recently completed the world’s largest network integration setting up a future ready network built on 5G architecture.
Vora will, however, continue with the Mumbai-based telco until October 31.
“In the meantime, we have engaged in a search for a potential successor for Vishant and we shall make an appropriate announcement in the due course,” the top executive added.
JM Financial recently said that while it was possible that VIL had a far higher gross loss at 7.5 million and strong gross addition of 3.8 million, and added that the telco had the weaker network.
