Vodafone Idea clears ₹818 crore statutory dues

Coming soon after the back to back on-time payments to its non-convertible debenture (NCD) holders, the latest payment of statutory dues underlines the loss-making telco's easing cash flow situation after the government's relief package, say experts.

Vodafone Idea has paid its statutory dues to the tune of ₹818 crore to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) as licence fee (LF) and spectrum usage charge (SUC) for the second quarter of 2021-22, clearing all its pending statutory dues.

Coming soon after the back to back on-time payments to its non-convertible debenture (NCD) holders, the latest payment of statutory dues underlines the loss-making telco's easing cash flow situation after the government's relief package, say experts.

"Vi deposited ₹818 crore on December 31 as LF & SUC based on self assessment by the company," a senior government official told ET.
