KOLKATA: Cable TV Equipments Traders and Manufacturers Association (CTMA) Wednesday stressed that TRAI should re-look the revenue share distribution between broadcasters and local cable operators to incentivise them to upgrade and improve the delivery mechanism.

"TRAI should re-look the revenue share distribution between broadcasters and local cable operators," CTMA secretary, K K Binani said.

He also informed that Android set-top box (STB) that will convert ordinary TV sets to SMART TV is the latest attraction.


"West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is very serious about the Cable TV sector and has formed a high-powered committee to look into the problems of 25,000 cable operators and over one lakh others engaged in earning their livelihood from this sector," Kolkata Mayor and West Bengal Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim was quoted as saying in a CTMA statement.

A three-day Cable TV show is being held here from January 9 and 11.
