"This milestone agreement promotes collaboration for interoperability and scaled deployments of OpenRAN products. Both sides concurred on joint efforts in next-generation communication technologies, marking a significant stride towards global technological advancement," the ministry said in the statement.
The agreement came during Mittal's visit to the United States starting January 12, 2024, addressing critical aspects of "India's technological prowess and global collaboration", the ministry said.
In September last year, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with US President Joe Biden, India's Bharat 6G Alliance and the Next G Alliance, operated by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions, signed a pact to deepen public-private partnership cooperation between vendors and telecom operators.
