Ookla awards Vi for being the fastest mobile network for January-June

Mobile network speed testing firm Ookla has awarded Vodafone Idea (Vi), the fastest mobile network beating rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, in the January-June of this year.

"It is our pleasure to present Vi with the award for Fastest Mobile Network in India. This recognition is testament to their exceptional performance in Q1-Q2 2021 based on Ookla's rigorous analysis of consumer-initiated tests taken with Speedtest," said Doug Suttles, CEO of Ookla on Monday.

The tag comes at a time when customers are heavily dependent on a mobile network's speed to remain digitally connected. The telco has been running a series of campaigns about the speed of its connectivity.
