"It's a game changing partnership, and business model. They (Jio) do bring a lot of their competitive ingredients into our hardware," CK Wang, vice president, IoT Business at MediaTek told ET.
Mukesh Ambani-owned Jio Platforms' subsidiary JioThings, on Friday, partnered with MediaTek, to tap the two wheeler and electric vehicle (EV) market in India. JioThings provides end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
The two firms will deliver Android-based smart digital cluster solutions. "We will provide hardware and most of the design services to them (Jio) and they will incorporate with their 4G, and some other applications or even maps and services. They would develop the strategy," Wang said.
