Jio will be rolling out its mmWave-based 5G connectivity for enterprises solution pan-India on August 15, Jio added.
“Honouring our commitment to the Government of India, the Department of Telecommunications and the 1.4 billion Indians towards accelerated roll-out of high-quality 5G services, we are proud to announce that we have taken India to the leadership position globally in speed of roll-out of 5G services,” Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited said.
He added that the telco is on track to complete pan-India 5G coverage by December 2023.
Jio’s mmWave business connectivity solution is available in some markets in the country and is being used by enterprises ranging from banks and education hubs to hospitals and government establishments currently and has clocked speeds up to 2 Gbps, the telco added.
“The benefits of 5G mmWave include extremely high bandwidth and low latency. This can give enterprises looking to deploy emerging and innovative applications faster speeds and less delay than previous wireless networking technologies,” he said on the enterprise connectivity launch by Jio.
The mmWave business solutions will expand the market for leased lines by providing equally dependable fixed-wireless services, digitise small and medium enterprises, he said.
The telco had completed submission of the prescribed details towards completion of the Phase 1 minimum roll-out obligation with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on July 19, and testing in all circles was completed on August 11, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Jio had acquired a combination of low-band (700 MHz), mid-band (3300 MHz) and mmWave (26 GHz) spectrum during the 5G auction held in July last year.
