Apple had rolled out a beta update in November for testing with select users. Apple had hoped to collect feedback about the network efficiency and resolve issues before rolling it out to a wider user base.
With the update, iPhones become the latest range of smartphones to support 5G services in India, after other major smartphone brands rolled out updates to their handsets from October onwards.
The update also brings a number of new features to iPhones. A new app called Freeform, which acts as a whiteboard for users to collaborate with others is added to iPhones.
There's also Apple Music Sing, a feature baked into the music streaming app that let users sing along to their favourite songs.
The update also includes end-to-end encryption to iCloud backup, including Notes, Photos, etc.
