New Delhi: The GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications) Board on Thursday said it has re-elected Bharti Airtel chief executive Gopal Vittal as its deputy chair. Mathew Oommen, president and member of the board of directors of Reliance Jio, has been re-elected as a board member. Both appointments are for two years beginning January 1, 2025.

The global mobile communications body also announced the names of 26 newly elected board of directors, who are from major telecom companies across the world.

The GSMA board will be led by Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete Lopez, chief executive of Spanish operator Telefonica. Our Bureau
