Akash Ambani announces launch of JioAirFiber hotspot that delivers fiber-like speeds

Reliance JIO chairman Akash Ambani announced JioAirfiber, a wifi hotspot that will allow consumers to access fiber-like speeds at homes and offices.

With a single device, it will be real easy to quickly connect any home or office to Gigabit-speed internet without any wires .

This will allow connecting of millions of homes and offices to ultra-high-speed broadband in a very short period. With it, India can rank among the Top-10 nations, even for fixed broadband.


At the 45th annual AGM, Akash Ambani announced the telecom major's plan to roll out the 5G services in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by Diwali and to bring the services to every town and taluka in India by the end of 2023.

"Jio will deploy the latest version of 5G, called Stand-Alone 5G, which has zero dependency on our 4G network," said Mukesh Ambani.




Speaking on the occasion, Akash Ambani said that true 5G deliversbreakthrough speedand drastically lowers latency.

Talking about how JioAirFiber will be a revolutionary device, Kiran Thoma, President, RIL, said,"Using JioAirFiber, customers can opt to use a virtual PC - Jio Cloud PC. No upfront investments, no upgrades. A super-affordable way to bring the power of a PC, even multiple PCs, to every Indian home and business."

The ultra high-speed of JioAirFiber will help in transforming how videos are consumed. "we can deliver multiple video streams, showing multiple camera angles at same time and that too in ultra-high definition, and we can dynamically choose which camera angle we want to focus on," said Akash.
