Airtel’s Gopal Vittal, Jio's Mathew Oommen join GSM Association board of directors

Industry body GSM Association (GSMA) on Monday elected new members to its Board of Directors, including Gopal Vittal, CEO, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen for a period of two years starting January 2021 to December 2022.

NEW DELHI: Industry body GSM Association (GSMA) on Monday elected new members to its Board of Directors, including Gopal Vittal, CEO, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen for a period of two years starting January 2021 to December 2022.

“We thank the GSMA Board for its exceptional support during what has been a challenging year. The Board’s insight, direction and support were integral as we navigated difficult decisions,” said GSMA Director General, Mats Granryd.

“There has never been a more crucial moment for the mobile ecosystem to work together, unlocking the full power of connectivity so that people, industry and society thrive, Granryd added.


There are 26 members of the GSMA Board. Members include senior representatives from global mobile operators.
