New Delhi: Bharti Airtel on Tuesday said its subscribers will be able to access a new solution that will detect and block malicious websites in real time across communication over-the-top (OTT) apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and Instagram.

The service-that the telco said is the first such in the world-is currently available for users in the Haryana region, with a nationwide rollout planned soon. The telco has nearly 362 million users.

"Over the last few years, we have come across several instances where unsuspecting customers have been defrauded by ingenious criminals of hard-earned money. Our engineers have tried to solve this problem through the launch of our Fraud Detection Solution," said Gopal Vittal, managing director, Bharti Airtel. - Our Bureau
